The Adidas Ultra Boost landed on the scene in 2015 and it’s here to stay. The Boost technology developed and designed by Adidas is unmatched when it comes to comfort. The awesome colorways and various collaborations means there’s a pair out there for everyone. Just know that these shoes don’t sit on shelves fast, so if you find a pair you like be ready to pay the $180 retail price tag before they sell out. The Adidas Ultra Boost is such an iconic sneaker that the boys at Style Street decided to rate every important Ultra Boost to date.
What Started This Ultra Boost Obsession?
For many sneakerheads, Kanye West is seen as the pioneer of the Adidas brand. It all started during the Billboard Music Awards, Kanye West wore the “triple white” pair of the Adidas Ultra Boost that grabbed the attention of new and old sneakerheads. Ever since that fateful day, collaborations with popular sneaker boutiques have helped sustain the Ultra Boost hype. Kanye West has actually brought Adidas more success than many give him credit for.
The Limited Phenomenon
Ultra Boost collaborations often sell out in the blink of an eye, which means resale prices explode after the fact. There are of course a lot of “less-hyped” Ultra Boost sneakers that deserve a spot in your rotation also. However, we aren’t here today to talk about the general release pairs. We’re here to talk about the best of the best Adidas Ultra Boost sneakers to release (so far).
We’ve put together a list of the most deserving Adidas Ultra Boost sneakers that we think could only go up in price. These sneakers could’ve been a general release that just had an amazing color way, or it could be a limited Ultra Boost that we knew from the start were going to be a highly desired pair. Keep in mind, we aren’t including any Yeezy or Women’s pairs in this list.
The Best Adidas Ultra Boost Sneakers to Release (so far)
Adidas Ultra Boost LTD 1.0 “Burgundy”
Price: $1,500+
Style Code: AF5836
Release: 2015
Where to Buy: Stockx FlightClub StadiumGoods
Why are these Burgundy colored Ultra Boosts in particular so damn expensive? Is it because of the crazy limited quantity of these that was released back in 2015? Is it the colorway, which honestly, doesn’t wow sneakerheads? No one can be 100% sure, but one thing is for certain, you won’t be stepping in these sneakers unless you have a deep wallet.

It takes a special sort of hype beast to want to buy a pair of shoes with 3M, nah who are we kidding, these shoes are just too clean. They almost have a “Cookies N’ Cream” vibe to them as well. Not at a horrible re-sale price point either.

Wow, that’s the easiest word to describe how clean this sneaker is. The Ultra Boost “Light Tan Cream” looks better than a scoop of homemade vanilla ice-cream. These shoes are extremely limited and would be a tough shoe to keep clean. If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on a pair, be careful wearing them out.

Adidas Ultra Boost 2.0 Multi-Color
Price: $350-400
Style Code: BB3911
Release: 2016
Where to Buy: Stockx FlightClub StadiumGoods
Not everyone can justify paying nearly $400 for a multicolor shoe, these are most definitely an exception though. Super clean shoes with a red heel counter and gold lettering. Can’t afford the $400 price tag? We suggest looking at the Ultra Boost 4.0 Candy Cane’s which offer a very similar colorway (without the red heel).

Adidas Ultra Boost 1.0 “White Rainbow”
Price: $450+
Style Code: AQ5558

These are another pair of Ultra Boosts that simply won’t be for everyone. The entire shoe is very white, which makes the multi-color on the toe that much more noticeable. The multi-color wave has been growing immensely popular over the last several years, it wouldn’t be a bad decision to invest in them while this trend is hot and growing.

Warning, these shoes may or may not make you hungry for Cookies and Cream flavored ice-cream. There aren’t enough good things to say about this sneaker, they are very well made and the Oreo style colorway blends in perfectly. I would highly suggest buying these while they are still available in large quantities, years from now these will surely be a highly sought-after pair to future sneakerheads.

Oh man, reddit is going to kill me for this one. I had to at least include one pair of triple black ultra boosts. The triple black, being the fan favorite for obvious reasons, doesn’t deserve all the hype-beast hate it gets on the internet daily. Can’t afford the $400 price tag? Good. There are many many many many more pairs of Ultra Boosts with the triple black style to choose from. Start with the 1.0 and keep counting up.

Please don’t confuse these with the Women’s pair, that sells for significantly less (hey if you can fit in women’s sizes more power to you). These shoes were actually at a peak several months ago (selling for nearly $800). Luckily for sneakerheads, these are on StockX and various other sites for much less than that. Adidas Ultra Boost 1.0 “Base Green Olive”
Price: $1000+
Style Code: AF5837
Release: 2015
Where to Buy: Stockx FlightClub StadiumGoods
One of the most expensive Ultra Boosts, enter the Green Olive colorway. Very similar to the “Burgundy Ultra Boost”, these aren’t only expensive because of the 2015 release date and limited amount of dead stock pairs left, the colorway is just that clean. There aren’t enough good things to say about these sneakers, Adidas absolutely killed this colorway, in a good way. Can’t afford the Green Olive? Try looking at the Ultra Boost 3.0 (Green).
