The Start of an Iconic Sneaker: The adidas Yeezy Boost 350

Many sneakerheads and Yeezy followers alike don’t know that Kanye West originally designed a shoe for Adidas in 2006, but it never came out. The first brand to officially collaborate with Kanye West and have a shoe line was Nike. This collaboration lasted for five years and a total of three sneaker styles were released. In 2013, after the release of the famed “Red Octobers” Kanye West left Nike.

Kanye Joins Adidas

In December of 2013, Adidas confirmed a new shoe collaboration deal with West. Over a year later, the name and design for the Kanye West and Adidas collaboration shoe was revealed. Later in that same year, Adidas revealed posters of the Yeezy Boost 750 “Light Brown”. The Yeezy boost 750 “Light Brown” was initially very limited and released through the Adidas mobile app.

On June 27th, 2015, the second shoe from the collaboration, the Yeezy Boost 350 was made available through a worldwide release. This is when many sneakerheads believe the Yeezy Boost 350 craze started, and although we’re in 2018, it still has no signs of slowing down.

adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Turtledove

After the success of the Yeezy Boost 750, adidas introduced a low-top option with the Yeezy Boost 350 to kick off summer 2015. Many would call the silhouette the more preferred of the two sneaker choices. Credit that greatly to the easy slip-on sock-like feel. The inaugural colorway earns the “Turtledove” name, as it sports Turtledove and Blue Grey woven throughout the upper’s Primeknit construction and a white TPU sole that wraps around full-length Boost foam cushioning. The matching white heel tab sports red accents to complete the clean look. Needless to say that the “Turtledove” has reached legendary status among sneakerheads and Yeezy fans alike.

Released on August 22, 2015, this version of the Yeezy Boost 350 is noted for its textured black look and red accents on the heel tab. The sneaker is constructed with a woven Primeknit upper that rests atop of a TPU sole, which covers full-length Boost foam cushioning. Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 v2 yebra

The Semi Frozen Yellow adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 was rumored as early as May of 2017-some blogs even claimed they would be mostly glow-in-the-dark-but it was when photos of Kanye West wearing them first surfaced on the web later in the year that confirmed the release. This colorway steps outside of the comfort zone of previous 350 Yeezy sneaker releases, which have remained subtle and mostly neutral primary colors and bright accents. The official colorway of the ‘Frozen Yellow Yeezys’ is actually Semi Frozen Yellow, Raw Steel and Red and features both of adidas pinnacle technologies, Boost cushioning and Primeknit sock-like upper. The hype for the yellow colored Yeezys was pushed to the roof before launch as Kanye West appeared with Kid Cudi and Takashi Murakami as ‘Ye and Cudi toured the iconic artist’s studio on a trip to Tokyo. These are one of the most limited Yeezy Boost 350’s to date, and the resale price point matches that.

The Yeezy Boost 350 is constructed with a woven Primeknit upper in a Light Stone and Oxford Tan hue, complete with a TPU sole that covers ample Boost foam cushioning, with the result being a sneaker that combines comfort and style flawlessly. One could say that this look is the most adult of any Yeezy Boost 350 not called “Pirate Black.” Though this colorway is indeed for everyone. The look is very similar to the Yeezy Boost 350 “Peanut Butter” rumored to release sometime in 2018.

The Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 was one of the biggest sneaker storylines of 2015, and it continued in 2016 with the re-release of “Pirate Black” version of the shoe. The sneakers were slightly different than the first run, but they drew the same sort of hype, even if Adidas supposedly made more pairs this time around. adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Beluga 2.0

STYLE CODE: AH2203

RETAIL PRICE: $220

RESALE PRICE: $400-$450

RELEASE DATE: November 2017

WHERE TO BUY: EBAY   Stockx

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 v2 Beluga

The Yeezy Beluga 2.0 takes Kanye West’s famous adidas sneakers full circle by returning to the colors of the first adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2. While the original colorway featured a bright orange (officially Solar Red) stripe across the side, the 2017 release of the Yeezy Beluga colorway is much more subtle. This colorway utilizes the same Zebra-like stripes as the original but the SPLY-350 branding is the only part of the upper with a contrasted color-this time called Bold Orange. The Yeezy Beluga 2.0 nickname comes from the similarities to the earlier colorway but the official colorway of this adidas Yeezy release is Grey, Bold Orange, and Dark Grey. The toned down color combo made it an appealing shoe for the masses compared to some previous Yeezy colorways. The best thing about these sneakers is that they go with EVERYTHING. So all of you people reading this who don’t know what to wear with your sneakers, buy these and you’ll have one less problem.

adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Cream White

STYLE CODE: CP9366

RETAIL PRICE: $220

RESALE PRICE: $400-$425

RELEASE DATE: April 2017

WHERE TO BUY: EBAY   Stockx

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 v2 Cream White

Sporting an all-white primeknit construction, the component still bears the distinctive stripe detailing, in addition to the signature “SPLY-350”, although, it’s camouflaged due to its white-out aesthetic. Matching heel pull tabs, laces and a full-length boost sole unit caps off the heavenly profile altogether. The main problem with these is the yellowing that is commonly the case with all white Yeezy Boost 350 sneakers. These will get pretty banged up after a couple of wears, similarly to how the Zebra’s end up looking. Nonetheless, these are a great shoe and at an affordable resale price point when compared to other Yeezy Boost 350 sneakers.
